CarbIO uses advanced AI to provide nutritional estimates. While we strive for accuracy, results are approximations and can vary based on image quality, portion estimation, and food preparation. For critical dietary decisions, always verify with other sources or consult a healthcare professional.

Can I use CarbIO for diabetes management?

CarbIO can help with carbohydrate estimation, which is useful for many people with diabetes. However, CarbIO is not a medical device and should not replace professional medical advice. Always consult your healthcare team for insulin dosing and treatment decisions.

Is my data private?

Yes! CarbIO is designed with privacy in mind. We use anonymous authentication, don't require personal information, and store your scan history locally on your device. Images are processed in real-time and not permanently stored on our servers. Read our Privacy Policy for more details.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can manage or cancel your CarbIO Premium subscription through your Apple ID settings:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap "Subscriptions"
  4. Find CarbIO and tap to manage or cancel

Remember to cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid being charged.

What languages does CarbIO support?

CarbIO is available in 7 languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Portuguese, and Swedish. The app automatically uses your device's language setting, or you can manually select a language in the app settings.

Why isn't my food being recognized correctly?

For best results:

  • Take photos in good lighting
  • Ensure the entire meal is visible
  • Avoid blurry images
  • Try different angles if needed

Some complex or unusual dishes may have lower accuracy. The confidence rating shown helps you understand how reliable each analysis is.

How do I delete my scan history?

You can delete individual scans by swiping left on them in the History screen. Your scan history is stored locally on your device, so uninstalling the app will also remove all scan data.

Does CarbIO work offline?

CarbIO requires an internet connection to analyze food photos, as the AI processing happens on our secure servers. However, you can view your previously saved scan history offline.
